HOW TO PLACE YOUR CUSTOM ORDER

OPTION 2 – Order a bespoke custom design
Contact us directly to let us know what item of jewelry you would like (ring, pendant, earrings etc) plus the type of metal, gemstones you’d like to use and any other information you have. We can then work together to design something special!

How do I customize an existing design?
You can see our wide range of models here. Once you have picked your model, choose the loose gemstones to fit your design here. Or, you can start with a gem from our Etsy shop and then look for a design that works with it. Getting stuck? Ask us for help.
What metals can I choose from?
We offer platinum, sterling silver and 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. We use recycled metals whenever possible.
How much will it cost?
The prices of each design do not include gems but they do include setting, polishing and any jewelry work required, so you can simply add the price of the gem(s) to the cost of the design for the final amount. You can add on customizations for an additional cost. We can add engravings, change the chain length, swap a post for a lever back or screw backs etc.
Where can I find a suitable gem?
The gems can be found at our store here. Each gem has information on size, origin and treatment so you can find the perfect ones for your needs.
I already own gems bought elsewhere. Can you set them into one of your designs?
Unfortunately, we don’t set clients’ gems. This is due to liability issues as they have to travel from one craftsperson to another; and they can break. However, we can send you a pre-finished setting in your desired metal and you can find a local jeweler to help.
I have found the perfect design but I can’t find a gemstone in your shop that will fit. What should I do next?
Please let us know. It’s very possible that we have some gems that aren’t yet listed, otherwise, we may be able to source one from one of our vetted suppliers.
I have an idea for an original piece of jewelry. Can you help me to make it a reality?
Yes. We would produce a CAD design, based on your ideas and any inspiration photos you may have. This usually costs $200 to $300 depending on the design’s intricacies and we can work together to make sure that you’re completely satisfied before we cast in your desired metal and set the gems.
I like parts of different designs, can I mix them up?
Yes! For instance, earring components can be used as pendants or vice versa, and they can be combined. Our Jewlery Archive here could give you some ideas or you can always check with us.
What is your return policy?
Custom orders cannot be returned or refunded. We work with you every step of the way to make sure that you are satisfied. Ready to wear items can be returned within 15 days of receipt.
How long do custom orders take?
Custom Orders can take 4-6 weeks to make before shipping. Ready To Wear items are shipped within 2 business days of the order being placed. Note that ring sizing or any other customization will add to the shipping time.
How do I pay?
Cecile Raley Designs accepts all major credit cards and PayPal. We ask for a 50% down payment for custom orders and for the balance to be paid in full before we ship out the finished product.
How will I receive my piece of jewelry?
We mostly ship via the United States Post Office. All parcels are tracked and items worth $400 or over are sent with Priority Mail. All items are shipped with tracking and insurance. You will receive a shipping notice when the item has been mailed. We can also ship via Fedex or UPS upon request.
